In ‘ylem’, water reflections are on the walls of a transparent enclosure. A hollow pillar inside holds a speaker that emit sounds to vibrate water on a transparent membrane.
According to studies, heavy downpours will increase and challenge infrastructure. In ‘ylem’ water is a key source in a public space of immersive experience. ‘ylem’ is a node in a larger network of sites strategically placed in the city. This allows rain from downpours to be controlled and directed.
